Building industry research

We have done several projects for a market research agency specialising in the building and construction sector, covering such diverse subjects as wooden balustrades, plasterboard and, most recently, cement.
Although opinion surveys are often classed as low-grade work we pointed out that their particular field involved detailed surveys which risked being abandoned mid-questionnaire by busy respondents who were often self-employed tradesmen. Partial surveys cannot be used in a statistical sample.
We have secured the work on the basis that our high-calibre staff achieve a higher response rate and complete more surveys by keeping reluctant respondents going to the end.
Although this does mean that the unit price for each survey is slightly higher, our overall project charge is lower because we deliver more fully completed surveys.
